Today marks the start of the online kickoff meeting in preparation for the project week taking place from November 4th to 8th in St. Gallen. Fifty participants – a diverse group of teachers and students from five different countries – are gathering virtually to review the assignments for the upcoming week and outline the project’s objectives. This meeting is a significant milestone in the VETskillinG project, aimed at preparing students for future challenges by developing both technical skills and generic, or “soft,” skills.

During the project week, students will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on, practice-oriented assignments that explore the role of soft skills, such as communication and teamwork, within technical projects. By combining these skills with a strong technical foundation, the project aims to equip students with the necessary tools to effectively collaborate and solve problems in a rapidly changing world.

This focus on both technical and soft skills seeks to prepare a new generation of professionals who are adaptable and ready to thrive in a dynamic workplace. The initiative underscores the importance of soft skills in executing technical tasks, contributing to a comprehensive learning experience and fostering resilience in students.

Today’s meeting not only provides participants with an introduction to the project’s practical and thematic aspects but also encourages them to begin networking. The collaboration within this multicultural setting promises a rich and insightful week ahead in St. Gallen.
