Day 1 - VETSKILLING Roskilde: getting to know each other, collaborating, and having fun!

Updated: Jun 6

The first day of the international VETSKILLING project week in Roskilde is complete – and what a fantastic start it was! Students from five different countries came together today with one shared goal: to work on technical solutions for a better environment.

Morning of introductions and icebreakers

The morning was all about getting to know each other and building connections. Through an interactive workshop on generic skills – such as teamwork, active listening, and taking initiative – the ice was broken in a playful and engaging way. Smiles, new friendships, and a sense of curiosity filled the room.

Technical deep dive in the afternoon

In the afternoon, it was time to get hands-on: the first technical workshop kicked off. Students began working on an inspiring project involving environmental measurements and data collection to identify and understand ecological challenges. The energy and commitment in the room were tangible.

SDG Workshop: Awareness and Global Citizenship

Alongside the technical sessions, students also took part in an insightful workshop on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The session was led by SDG Ambassador Rainia, who inspired the group with real-world stories, examples, and challenges related to global issues like poverty, climate change, education, and equality.

Collaboration and joy at the heart

One thing became clear today: learning and collaboration work best when it's fun. The positive and open atmosphere on this first day lays a solid foundation for the rest of the week – where international cooperation, creativity, and sustainability go hand in hand.

Stay tuned – we’ll be sharing daily updates, photos, and participant stories here on the website.
